India’s largest biking festival, which saw the participation of thousands of bikers coming from all parts of India, also saw the unveiling of four new Benelli motorcycles. These are Benelli Tornado 302, Benelli TRK 502, Benelli TNT Naked T-135 and Benelli BX 250. Of these four, two are going to be launched in India later this year.
Benelli TRK 502 is a adventure tourer, which is powered by a 500 cc twin cylinder engine capable of generating 48 PS power at 8,500 rpm and 45 Nm peak torque at 4,500 rpm via six-speed gearbox. Expected to be launched at a price of INR 5 lakh, it will become the most affordable premium adventure tourer in the country.
Benelli Tornado 302 is a fully faired 300 cc sportsbike which was first showcased in India at the 2016 Auto Expo earlier this month. It is powered by 300 cc parallel twin liquid cooled engine which generates max power of 35 PS at 12,000 rpm and peak torque of 27 Nm at 9,000 rpm via a six-speed gearbox.
To be launched in the coming months, it will compete with the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 300, Yamaha R3, etc. Expect it to be launched in a price range of INR 3 lakh.
The other two bikes on display at the Benelli stall are Benelli TNT Naked T-135 and Benelli BX 250. These too are expected to be launched in India, but more as a brand builder and not so much to bring in additional sales to the charts.
