Bentley Motors 25% global sales growth for 2013 Q1. Besides strong sales, the company also opened 8 new dealerships in this same three month period while there are momentous plans to open 30 more in the months to come.
Conditions in auto sectors across the globe are not as encouraging but that has not deterred Bentley’s growth. The new 616 bhp Flying Spur, costing a whopping £140,000, which was recently revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, is expected to boost demand even further. In American markets, Bentley sold a total of 632 units in Q1 2013 recording growth of 35.04% over the same period in 2012. In these markets it was the Continental GT V8, GTC V8 and GT Speed which were much in demand.
Middle Eastern markets saw deliveries in Q1 2013 increase 41.07% with 237 units sold while deliveries increased 68.12% in Asia Pacific markets. China sales in Q1 2013 touched 474 unit s as they wait anxiously for the Flying Spur which will be made available by mid 2013. Kevin Rose, Bentley’s board member for sales, marketing and aftersales said, “Bentley continues to sustain significant global sales growth. We are simultaneously rolling out our dealer expansion plan with eight new outlets opening their doors to customers so far this year and over thirty more to come.”
He added, “Although conditions in some markets are becoming more challenging, we are continuing to increase our market share thanks to our growing global presence and growth in key new markets such as Russia. I am confident that with the imminent arrival of the new Flying Spur we will maintain substantial growth for the rest of 2013.”
For the 2nd consecutive year, Bentley’s Continental GT has been selected ‘Classic Car of the Future’ in the Coupe Category by Motor Klassik magazine readers and awarded at the at the Motor Klassik gala award ceremony at Schloss Dyck in Jüchen, Westphalia on April 9th.. 22,000+ participants voted through the magazine’s online and print channels from from 60 cars in six ‘classic car’ categories, and 54 cars in 9 ‘classic cars of the future’ categories. The Continental GT range comprises of the Continental V8, Continental W12 and performance flagship Continental GT Speed (Coupe and Convertible).
