Bentley Supersports Convertible, ice speed record holder, now on sale

Almost a fortnight back, Bentley broke their own ice speed record when Juha Kankkunen raced his Bentley Supersports Convertible past the 200 mph barrier on the frozen Baltic sea, off the Finland coast. Touching a top speed of 205.48 mph, Bentley Supersports Convertible broke the 199.83 mph record set by Bentley Continental GT in 2007, coincidentally by the same driver and crew!

Powered by a 6.0L W12 that generates 631 bhp and 590 lb-ft torque combined with a 6 speed AT, Bentley Supersports Convertible accelerates from 0-60 mph in less than 3.8 seconds. When asked about how the same engine generates extra power, Bentley said modifications in the exhaust system, free breathing air-ducts and new intercooler system gives more power.

Apart from the engine and exhaust modifications, Bentley Supersports Convertible also has new sets of alloys and tires which are specially designed keeping its sporty nature in mind. 20” 10 spoke alloys are given 275/35ZR20 ultra high performance Pirelli sports tires. Bentley has also installed carbon ceramic discs on both front (420mm) and rear (365mm) sets of wheels.

Only drawback, Bentley is going to manufacture only 100 of these beauties.
