Bentley’s fastest Flying Spur debuts in New York
2014 Bentley Flying Spur made its global premiere at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, and now, at the ongoing 2013 New York Motor Show, it makes its US debut.
Fitted with a 6.0 liter twin turbocharged W12 engine that generates 616 hp and 590 lb/ft torque and sends drive to its four wheels through an eight speed ZF automatic transmission. This is about 16 hp and 37 lb/ft torque more than the last Continental Flying Spur Speed.
Designers have added new fender vents and indicator lamp along with new tail lamps to this new Flying Spur which can reach a top speed of 200 mph. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is possible in 4.3 seconds while upto 100 mph is achieved in 9.5 seconds. This makes it Bentley’s not only the fastest but also the most powerful sedan to date.
Bentley also claims that the new Flying Spur is 110 pounds lighter as compared to its earlier counterpart while due to its sleeker body design, drag coefficient of just 0.29. This luxurious and powerful vehicle is the cynosure of all attention at the 2012 New York Auto Show where it is seen in shades of purple drawing even more attention due to its striking color.
