Best and worst selling cars in India for June 2015 and Q1 FY2016

Besides Renault Fluence, there were two other cars by the manufacturer that featured on the list of worst selling cars during the period. Renault Scala the mid-sized sedan and Pulse compact car also appeared on the list positioned at 6th and 8th spot with 274 and 497 units sold.

Though Renault Fluence and Ford Fiesta feature in this list, they are amongst the best available driver’s car in the under Rs 15 lakh segment.

The new Ford Fiesta continued to remain in 2nd spot among worst selling cars with 55 units sold in Q1 FY16 followed by the Chevrolet Cruze of which the company only sold 207 units. Fiat Linea was at No. 7 with 411 units sold while 549 units of Nissan Sunny were sold during the period. Where 10 top selling cars in June 2015 were concerned, Maruti DZire once again regained the topmost position with 21,886 units sold, which was nearly 37% more than sales in June 2014 when sales stood at 15,990 units. 21,115 units of Maruti Suzuki Alto were sold in June 2015 and even though sales dipped from 30,499 units sold in June 2014, the Alto claimed 2nd spot on the list of best sellers during June 2015. In 3rd and 4th position were again Maruti Swift and WagonR of which 17,313 units and 13,211 units were sold.

Hyundai found its Grand i10 on the list of top 10 best selling vehicles in June 2015 with 8,970 units sold up from 7,901 units sold in June 2014. Featuring on 6th spot, Hyundai Elite i20 was the new entrant in the list with sales of 8,706 units, while Hyundai Xcent failed to make its way onto the list.

Honda cars too featured in the top 10 best selling cars list for June 2015. Honda City was in No. 8 position down from 6th position in June 2014 while Honda Amaze also lost its 7th position to feature at No.9 last month.
