BharatBenz to usher in 17 new truck models by 2014. Fuel efficient and built to suit needs of customers these trucks will set new standards for Indian markets.
Daimler India Commercial Vehicles a subsidiary of Daimler AG will be introducing 17 new truck models under the Bharat Benz brand for Indian markets by 2014. During last year DICV had recorded sales of over 1000 units within three months. DICV has expanded its portfolio to include medium duty trucks in the 9-12 ton range. Fuel efficient and built to suit needs of customers these trucks will set new standards for Indian markets.
These medium duty trucks are built to be sued for a wide range of applications ranging from construction to distribution etc. They are powered by 140 hp or 170 hp engines which make them more fuel efficient than other vehicles on Indian roads. These medium duty trucks are built on the existing Fusco Canter model and have been suitable designed for optimum performance on Indian roads.
A Rs. 4,400 crore manufacturing plant was set up by DICV in Chennai to help cater to needs of the truck industry in India. Set up on 400 acres of land it boasts of superior technology and processing features which enable it to roll out one heavy duty and light duty vehicle every 11 minutes and 22 minutes respectively.
