Bicycle messengers and alleycat races: Lucas Brunelle’s film Line of Sight (Video) showcases dare devil cyclists racing through city traffic

Lucas Brunelle’s film ‘Line of Sight’ has been completed after a span of 10 years. This documentary is created by Lucas Brunelle and premiered at the Bicycle Film Festival on June 28th. Alley car racing through the streets and weaving in and out of traffic may look dangerous and at the cost of life and limb but according to film maker upmost safety precautions have been taken to ensure no such calamity.

The bike messenger is seen competing in these illegal 20 mile events with cameras strapped to helmets trying to capture hours and hours of cyclists weaving between pedestrians and vehicles on busy streets. The route is predetermined just before the race and four to eight checkpoints are marked with cyclists expected to pass each point.

An edited version of this spectacular course of documented events will be premiered at Anthology Film Archives in East Village. A similar spectacle will be seen in Bridge Battle where other like minded dare devils will speed through Brooklyn and Manhattan with their bikes speeding at 60 miles per hour as they compete for prizes ranging from cash, bicycle parts and plane tickets.
