Two wheelers seem to be recording increased sales. Top two wheeler companies like Bajaj Auto and Garware Motors have seen competition heating up and big bike sales receiving a boost in the past few months. Two wheeler companies are planning new launches, and while clocking sales at 3000 bikes per month with the two wheeler industry set to grow 25% per annum.

Bajaj Auto will be launching a new range of KTM bikes soon. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto which sells about 200 Kawasaki Ninja 650cc bikes per month says that the bike is sold out. They are now getting ready to bring in newer additions. A similar story was told by Diya Garware, Managing Director of Garware Motors. Garware last month launched the Hyosung 650cc GT 650N sports bike for a price of Rs.4.39 lakhs.

Recognizing the need for sports bikes by the younger segment of buyers has made it necessary to ensure that quality sports bikes are launched which will target a new segment of society. Royal Enfield will also be moving into the 750cc twin cylinder bike category and looks at the new Chennai plant that will be operational by 2013 as a key to reduce delivery time of bullets and othet classic bikes. BMW looks fowrward to launch a 650cc bike in the Rs. 4 to Rs.4.5 lakh category. Tuning down a bit, the 250 to 350cc bike segment in a price range of Rs.3 to 5 lakh too is prompting companies to bet big.
