Biker Fumitaka Nozaki enthalls India Auto Expo visitors: Yamaha R25, FZ S, Alpha scooter and more
Yamaha is investing Rs 1,500 crore in its new plant that will be operational by end of 2014. 2013 saw Yamaha record 33% growth. In the domestic market, Yamaha India sold 4.6 lakh units in 2013 and looks to sell 6 sales lakh units in 2014.
The company’s Maiden Mascot, which promotes the Yamaha Children Safety Program (YCSP) was named through a mascot naming contest for kids that ended on 27th Jan. The Maiden Mascot has now been named ‘Zippy’.
Yamaha India booth theme at 12th Auto Expo is “Revs your Heart”, and has on display 16 products in the motorcycle and scooter market. Divided into various zones, there is the Family zone displaying Yamaha’s latest launch, the Alpha scooter. The Ray Zone displays the company’s Ray scooters. The Z Zone displays the Ray Z, SZ Series and FZ Series, and FZ S concept model. The Big bike Zone displays the R1, VMAX and FZ 1. Racing zone displays R15 and the YZR-M1 MotoGP model. The Tokyo concept Model R25 is also on display, and has attracted a lot of attention.
Yamaha certainly did rev all hearts at the 12th Auto Expo 2014 with almost 10,000 daily visitors at its stall, and 3,500 visitors in its activity area. Bike stunts in the activity area were a great attraction.
Along with Yamaha’s senior management, actor John Abraham was present, and ceremoniously received the keys of the super sport YZF-R1. John Abraham continues as the brand ambassador of Yamaha’s flagship FZ series bikes.

Yamaha Alpha Zone hosed all colour variants of the recently launch, they were on display in the activity area and available for test drives too. Th kid’s bike (Yamaha PW 50) especially brought in for the Auto Expo ensured an active Kids’ Zone.
