The new BMW 2 Series is set to be unveiled on October 25th 2013. But before that, it has been spied. New spy shots reveal that the new M235i coupe was recently at a dealer, probably for a private unveiling, where the red colored car was spied. Apart from this, the new 2 Series was also seen in recent print of a German magazine.
Prior to being showcased officially on 25th October, i.e. tomorrow, the company has shown the upcoming M235i at a dealer presentation in Europe. It was here that it was seen to possess a 3.0 liter turbocharged straight six engine offering 322 hp peak power and 450 Nm of peak torque. The M235i can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds when mated to an automatic gearbox, while top speed is at 250 kmph.
BMW are slated to launch a minimum of three variants of the 2 Series and the M235i coupe will be joined by 220i and 220d variant. The former will receive a 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder petrol engine offering 181 hp power and 270 Nm torque while the latter will come in with a 2.0 liter turbodiesel engine with higher torque at 308 Nm. The top end M235i receives an aggressive M body kit with distinctive headlights.
Meanwhile, the 2 Series coupe was also shown by the German magazine, Autobild. The screenshots of these were taken by 2addicts. The 220d diesel will get 181 hp engine that will give a mileage of about 20.8 kmpl. It does a 0-100 kmph in 7.2 seconds and has a top speed of 220 kmph. More information will be revealed tomorrow at the official unveiling, but before that, we expect the official studio shots to surface later today.
