Overall women`s race winner was Gladys Cherono who clocked 32.03, followed by Ethiopian Guteni Shone at 32.10 and Kenyan Esther Chemtai in 32.14.
Sudha Singh and Suresh Kumar emerged winners in the men and women in the Indian category, and did spend some time at the photo op after the run when seen in the company of a BMW 3 Series Convertible. Overall they finished 20th, and 14th respectively. The race ended at the Kanteerava Stadium. finishing overall 20th and 14th respectively.
The top times set by Indian runners were Suresh KR Patel 00.30.34, V L Dangi 00.30.53, and Mohd. Yunus 00.30.58. For the women, top times were set by Sudha Singh 00.35.25 (Overall 14); Preeja Sreedharan 00.36.01 (Overall 15); and O P Jaisha 00.36.31 (Overall 17). Reigning World Cross Country champion Japhet Korir was expected to finish strong but came in at 17th at race end.
