To be India’s first luxury hybrid sedan, the BMW 7 Series ActiveHybrid will be powered by a 3.0 liter in-line six cylinder Twin Power Turbo petrol engine offering 320 hp peak power and 450 Nm peak torque. This engine will work in conjuncture with an electric motor capable of 55 hp and 210 Nm torque with combined output of 354 hp.
Mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission, the engine is capable of acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 kmph. Despite this high performance, fuel emissions and fuel efficiency are worthy of mention as they stand at 158 g/km and 14.7 kmpl respectively.
Measuring 5079mm in length, 1902mm in width and standing 1471mm in height, the soon to be launched BMW 7 Series ActiveHybrid sits on a wheelbase measuring 3070mm and has a ground clearance of 152mm, thus making it ideal as a full-sized family car in the premium segment.
The current BMW offerings in 7 Series category include 730Ld, 740 Li, 750 Li and 760 Li their flagship model. The new 7 Series ActiveHybrid will sit below the flagship model which is priced at INR 1.78 crores.
