Through 2013, BMW launched the X1, 7 Series, 5 Series, 1 Series, and Z4 in India. While none of the luxury auto manufacturers are in the number game, it does seem BMW India’s sales decline seems mammoth in the face of Audi and Mercedes-Benz India’s sales growth for 2013. In 2012, BMW India did finish the year on top.
The new year will see BMW India have a strong presence at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo with BMW i8 hybrid, BMW 3-series GT, and BMW M6 Gran Coupé being showcased among others from their ‘X’ SUV range. BMW India sold 1,465 (1410 BMW + 55 Mini) vehicles here in Q1 2013. For the 1st quarter, Audi India sold 2,616 cars, and Mercedes-Benz India sold 2,009 cars.
In 2012, Audi India had sold 9003 cars, whereas Mercedes-Benz India had sold 7138 cars. In comparison, through 2013, Audi India has sold 10,002, and Mercedes-Benz India has sold 9003 cars reporting 11%, and 31.62% sales growth for the year respectively.
