BMW India official car partner for Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2012

Airtel Delhi Half Marathon was held on Sunday 30th September 0212 with BMW India being official car partners of the event. This event sees a host of like minded individuals congregate on the streets of Delhi to run with enthusiasm, vitality and vigor much in the same way as a BMW EfficientDynamics presents itself as a high fuel efficient vehicle, with enhanced driving pleasure and improved performance.

This year’s half marathon is expected to be a more sparkling affair with a number of events planned wherein great athletes of the world such as David Lekuta Rudisha the current 800m Olympic Champion has been announced as the Event Ambassador. He along with other athletes will meet and speak at the Meet and Greet Session being held at Le Meridien on Wednesday.

A total of 31,746 runners are registered to participate in this half marathon with prize money reaching US$210,000. Out of these runners 10,609 will participate in the half marathon while 19,781 will participate in the Great Delhi Run, 1,125 in Senior Citizens Run and 231 in the Wheelchair Event. David Rudisha,flagged of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon in India. The men’s race saw Edwin Kipyego win with a time of 1:00:55. Leonard Langat (1:01:07), Silas Kipruto (1:01:57), Milton Rotich (1:02:01) and Titus Mbishei (1:02:44) ended the top 5 Kenyan finish. Helah Kiprop (1:11:18) came in 3rd in the women’s timings, wih Ethiopian Yimer Yude (1:11:10) winning. Indian winners of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2012 are Mr. Rahul Kumar Pal and Ms. Sudha Singh.
