BMW India online sales go live – Contactless Experience launched

BMW India has commenced online sales with the added convenience of home delivery

BMW India has initiated its new Contactless Experience which allows customers to buy either a new or pre-owned BMW completely online. The company has opened a dedicated website for this — www.bmw-contactless.in.

The platform easily lets customers seek out their desired BMW product, book the model, make payments, etc., amidst these challenging times. India’s nationwide lockdown protocols have shut down all automotive dealerships and online sales platforms seem to be the way forward.

Once booked and paid for, customers can schedule home deliveries. Prior to delivery, the vehicles will be thoroughly sanitized and all documents will be handed in a sealed envelope. A representative from BMW would be available online to help customers with their queries. The platform also offers a 360-degree view of every BMW product on sale and the online representative will explain everything about the car.

Apart from being able to buy BMW products online, service bookings can also be done with the convenience of adding the date and time as per the customer’s choice. The vehicle will be picked up and delivered by the dealer staff. Customers’ approval will be taken on service costs before starting work. Online payments are accepted and the vehicle will be completely sanitized at the time of delivery back at the customer’s residence.

Since the launch of BMW Contactless Experience earlier this month, the German brand has seen an overwhelming response in customer engagement, requests and virtual product presentations. The company expects even more activity in the days ahead.

BMW Group India has implemented WFH (Work From Home) strategy across all its offices following the coronavirus outbreak. The company’s plant in Chennai has stopped production till 3 May 2020 after which the situation would be assessed to commence production or not. BMW India has also pledged financial support of Rs 3 crore to fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The company has participated in the creation of isolation wards for COVID-19 patients at the Government General Hospital in Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu. The company is also providing critical care equipment to medical facilities in Delhi NCR and Chennai.

The company will supply Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to frontline medical personnel and law enforcement agencies in these two regions and take care of the nutritional needs of economically-marginalized families in Delhi NCR and Chennai. Employees at the company plant as well as at BMW Group India and BMW India Financial Services have voluntarily contributed towards the cause.
