BMW M4 Coupe drifting on edge of Aircraft Carrier (Video)
A BMW is well versed with tackling the race track and speeding around hairpin bends but it is for the first time that it had to careen around a large expanse of water, as seen in the new video. Watch the new BMW M4 ad, in which it is showing off its prowess on board an aircraft carrier.
BMW released a new ad on their Canadian YouTube channel showing the new M4 drifting on the deck of an aircraft carrier, what they call as The Ultimate Racetrack. There were no details revealed as to where this was actually filmed though it was for a brief moment when the tower on flight deck reveals “74” in white and framed with lights. These indicate the CVN-74 in USS John C Stennis. However, use of this is highly unlikely as this aircraft carrier is still functional.
With an aircraft carrier having a deck with an expanse of a few football fields, the stunt for BMW M4 commercial does look spectacular, set against the backdrop of the M4’s ferocious sounds as it tackles the far corners of the aircraft carrier and comes within inches of the edge to the high seas.
The BMW M4 was presented on August 16, 2013 in a concept format. The car is a high performance version of 4 Series, developed by BMW’s in-house motorsports division – BMW M GmbH. To be powered by a M tuned S55B30 engine, the engine will use two mono scroll turbochargers with 430 hp peak power and 500 Nm peak torque mated to both 6 speed manual and 7 speed M-DCT transmissions.
