BMW M4 GTS detailed ahead of 2015 Tokyo Motor Show debut

Powered by a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six cylinder engine fitted with water injection technology and capable of taking a lap around Nürburgring Nordschleife in just 7:28 minutes, BMW M4 GTS will make its official debut at 2015 Tokyo Motor Show.

BMW M4 GTS is being offered as a special edition to celebrate 30th anniversary of BMW M3 which has been in production since 1986. BMW M4 GTS receives engine and visual updates. Power comes to the GTS via a 3.0 liter TwinPower Turbo six cylinder engine fitted with water injection technology.

This engine is capable of 500 PS peak power and 600 Nm peak torque mated to a 7 speed M Double Clutch Transmission allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 in 3.8 seconds and top speed of 305 kmph. Despite boost in power and performance (as compared to standard M3 and M4), fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions are at the same level as seen on the BMW M4 Coupe standing at 8.3 liters per 100 km and 194 g/km.

It will be seen with a new aerodynamic body kit with adjustable front splitter, new hood and adjustable rear wing in carbon fiber. This has CNC machined aluminum mounts connected to carbon reinforced plastic trunk lid.

Being a special edition, the BMW M4 GTS also gets carbon fiber diffuser, titanium exhaust system and M light alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, thus allowing for a total weight saving of 20 percent.

Interior updates are seen with Alcantara wrapped steering wheel, carbon fiber bucket seats which are done up in Alcantara/Merino leather while three point seat belts, lightweight central console and revised door trims are also evident.

While there is no indication on pricing, production of BMW M4 GTS will be limited to just 700 units.
