BMW Vision Next 100 Concept celebrates BMW’s 100th anniversary by imagining the next 100 years

At a gala event in Munich, where BMW originated 100 years ago, the company celebrated their 100th anniversary by unveiling BMW Vision Next 100 Concept. This new concept car not only signifies the brand’s successful journey of last 100 years but also gives direction for the next 100 years.

Speaking to the media, Harald Krüger, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG said that BMW is always looking towards offering the best solution in mobility to their customers, and they will continue to do so.
This is why BMW has imagined a scenario 100 years into the future. BMW believes that in the future premium mobility by the company will be “completely effortless, comprehensively available and tailored to every customer’s individual preferences.”

Connectivity will play a huge role in shaping our future. Connected technologies will continue to evolve and learn human behaviour. “Future mobility will connect every area of people’s lives. And that’s where we see new opportunities for premium mobility,” Krüger added.

Speaking about their new concept, BMW VISION NEXT 100, the company says that it embodies a futuristic design which combines the sportiness of a coupe and the elegance of a sedan. The interesting thing to note here is that the Vision Next 100 is not an anonymous vehicle, but a vehicle which has built to suit the tailored needs of its customer.

Depending on the driver, the vehicle can be driven in autonomous or manual mode. It has two drive modes – Boost and Ease. BMW explains – “In Boost, the entire vehicle focuses on the driver, offering the support needed to maximise the driving experience – for instance by indicating the ideal driving line, steering point and speed. Ease mode sees the interior transform: the steering wheel and centre console retract; the headrests turn to the side, and the seats and door trim merge to form a single unit so that the driver and front-seat passenger can turn towards each other.”

BMW VISION NEXT 100 will next head out on a tour across the globe.
