BMW X4 Concept in photos before the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show
The BMW X4 is making its world premiere at the Auto China Show 2013, also known as the Shanghai Auto Show. The show is scheduled from April 20-29, 2013. Here are the first extensive photos of the new X4, which BMW says is a Sports Activity Vehicle.
Being a production ready concept, the X4 measures 4,648mm in length, 1,915mm in width and 1,622mm in height. It bears the same length and wheelbase as the X3, but is 53mm lower and 34mm wider than X3.
There is not much change where styling is concerned as the company gets set to launch the vehicle in global markets in 2014. The body will sport four doors and four individual seats as the new BMW SAV comes in to compete with Range Rover Evoque, Porsche Macan and Lincoln MKC.
Engine details should also be the same as those seen in the X3 which will mean that the X4 xDrive28i will sport a turbocharged 2.0 liter four engine offering 240 hp while the X4 xDrive35i will be fitted with a 3.0 liter turbocharged straight six offering 300 hp.
