Showcased in concept format at Auto Shanghai 2013 followed by its debut at Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, the new BMW X4 xDrive 28i has now debuted in Malaysia where it is seen powered by a 2.0 liter turbo engine offering 245 hp peak power and 350 Nm peak torque at 1,250 rpm. The engine is mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission via BMW xDrive system. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 6.4 seconds while top speed is pegged at 232 kmph.
Weighing a total of 1,845 kgs, the new F26 BMW X4 sits on a wheelbase measuring 2,810 mm, same as new F25 X3 Coupe, while length is shorter by 23mm to stand at 4,671mm. Boot space is at 500 liters which can be augmented to 1,400 liters with rear seats folded. Automatic tailgate and Smart Opener function allows the boot to be opened without any contact.
Interiors of the 2015 BMW X4 boasts of a host of cabin comforts such as dual zone auto air conditioning with rear vents, electrically adjustable seats, 8.8 inch colour display. Infotainment is thanks to a 16 speaker 600W Harman Kardon sound system.
BMW’s xDrive 28i also comes in with xLine trim which sits on 19” Y spoke alloy wheels wrapped with 245/45 tyres in front and275/40 tyres at the rear. The xLine includes chrome trims on dual tail pipes, matte aluminum on kidney grilles and satin window surrounds while seats are in Nevada leather. The optional M Sport package includes 19” double spoke M alloy wheels with tyre sizes the same as those on the xLine with additions of an M aerodynamic package, Melbourne Red colour options, M Sports steering and 16 speaker 600 W Harman Kardon sound system.
