A bullet proof car that protected the likes of Al Capone better known as the Mob King of Chicago is going under the auctioneers hammer….

A bullet proof car that protected the likes of Al Capone better known as the Mob King of Chicago is going under the auctioneers hammer. Prices of this3000 lbs bullet proof 1928 Cadillac V-8 Town Sedan is expected to reach £325,000.

Completely built in steel armour with bullet proof windows which can be raised to fire at pursuers is painted in green with black fenders to pass off as a police car. It is complete with flashing lights and siren and is even fitted with a police band radio receiver. Earlier in the possession of Al Capone, the vehicle was later owned by a US car collector John O’Quinn, while was also in the possession of President Franklin Roosevelt when Capone was imprisoned for tax evasion.

The Cadillac will be sold at the RM Auctions in California on August 20th, 2012. O’Quinn, the last and final owner of this vehicle died last year in a car crash and the car is part of his estate that is being auctioned.
