Cadillac Vice President of Marketing, Don Butler wants to take his company back to the No 1 spot as far as sales of luxury cars in the US is concerned. To ensure their success is achieved in double quick time the company is placing their bets on the new 2013 ATS which is slated for launch next month. This vehicle will compete with the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes Benz C300.

Last month the company launched Cadillac XTS while a third generation CTS is expected to arrive at dealer showrooms along with the new Escalade. Three new models in such a short time, when the company went three years without a new product definitely says something about Cadillac’s endeavors to reach their aim in record time. Meanwhile, demand for used cadillac cars has been steady.

Cadillac sales during 2011 reached 152,389 units. The company will have to do much better where their sales figures are concerned to be able to capture the No.1 position. Sales figures are currently down 18.6% for the current year but this is expected to change significantly once the new ATS makes itself available. They are also going to show their new ATS commercial at the London Olympics premier.

Don Butler said, “It’s my goal that we’re the No. 1 luxury brand in the U.S. I’m not going to say when we hope to achieve that, yet, but there’s no reason to aim for anything less. We’ve gone nearly three years without new product. Now we’re bringing in some great vehicles. We used to be up on a pedestal. Now, we’re not.”
