Bollywood movies,  RA1 and Don 2 have a number of similarities where thrills, chills and car chases are concerned, the similarity ends there as RA1 saw extensive use of Volkswagen while Don 2 features Hyundai cars. Cars and scenes related to car features seem to plan a very important role in movies made today. Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol saw BMWs Vision Efficient Dynamics cruising through the streets of Mumbai, while Don 2 saw Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan causing mayhem on the streets of Berlin.

RA1 saw Shah Rukh Khan driving a VW Touareg. Don 2 on the other hand was a much bigger success and here SRK is seen in a Hyundai, a company with which he has been associated for the last 12 years.

Bunty aur Babli which came out in 2005 saw use of a Maruti Swift while a Mercedes Benz was used in the movie Dil Chahata Hai way back in 2002. Volvo XC90 was used in the making of 3 Idiots where viewers got to see the red sports utility vehicle making its way through the Manali Leh Highway after which the car made an appearance in the country. One wonders whether car manufacturers are now depending on movies to market and sell cars?

    Agree with Shameen...it's a Volvo...but it's a XC 90 with R-Design; not a X-Trail.
Also SRK has been using Hyundai for movies quite for sometime now. Yellow i10 in Rabb Ne Bana Di...in film placement is a logical tool for car markeeters...
