Malaysian owned British Formula One Team, Caterham F1 unveiled their all new CT01 Formula One race car earlier today. All new Caterham F1 car has a very similar paintjob as the 2011 variant. The same yellow and green color combination will once again set the CT01 apart from others on the circuit. From the images here, we can see a newly designed nose, rear quarters are reshaped (pertaining to the new rule which bans exhaust blown diffusers).

On the engine front, Caterham CT01 F1 car is powered by the Renault RS27 V8, which will also power the Lotus, Williams and Red Bull F1 cars for the 2012 season. For the first time, Caterham F1 has installed the KERS - Kinetic Energy Recovery System in their car. Transmission is taken care by Red Bull's 7 speed sequential gearbox. Tony Fernandes, Team Principal, Caterham F1 has stated that he and his team is aiming to make a breakthrough this season by dominating midfield position this Formula One season.

Before 2012 F1 season, Caterham F1 was known by the name of Team Lotus. Caterham was using the name Lotus because of an agreement which was signed earlier between them. But when Lotus decided to enter F1 on their own, they wanted nobody else to use their name, because of which, after a long legal battle, Caterham decided to use Caterham F1 while Lotus decided on using Lotus F1 as their respective official names for the 2012 Formula One season. Jarno Trulli and Heiki Kovalainen will continue as the Malaysian outfits official race drivers for 2012 F1 season.
