175 cars ranging from 1886 to 1986 and spanning a 100 years of automotive history  will be up for auction this August. These spectacular cars, in highly original condition, were all part of those on exhibit at the Aalholm Automobil Museum. This museum was in operation from 1964 through 2007 and at one time displayed more than 200 cars. Now, with so much history attached to them, the cars have nowhere to go and are hence being auctioned.

The museum was founded by Baron J O Raben-Levetzau, a Danish auto collector who started the collection with the castle’s own 1911 Rolls-Royce and collected over a span of four decades. Some of these collector’s items include a 1896 Léon Bollée Voiturette, a 1899 De Dion-Bouton Tricycle, a 1900 De Dion-Bouton Four-Seat Vis-à-Vis and a 1900 Decauville Roadster to name few. There will be others that will also go under the auctioneer’s hammer in August which will include a 1911 Rolls-Royce 40/50 hp Silver Ghost Roi des Belges Tourer, two exceedingly exceptional and significant pre-war Bugatti’s such as 1931 Type 40A Tourer and 1938 57C Stelvio Drophead Coupe by Gangloff.

This is not the entire list of antique cars to be auctioned as a right-hand drive 1928 Mercedes-Benz Nürnburg Limousine, 1932 Hispano-Suiza HS26 Three Position Drophead Coupe, 1938 Maybach Zeppelin DS8 Roadster 1963 Ferrari 250 GT/E will also be at the auction to be held August 12, 2012.
