Chevrolet Sail sedan launch: GM India hopes to sell 48k units in 2013
General Motors India has revealed that they aim to sell 48,000 units of their newly launched Sail sedan before the year 2013 ends. Chevrolet Sail was launched in India on 1st Feb and has already clocked over 1,000+ bookings.
Hoping to benefit from this, GM India and its subsidiary, Chevrolet India are aiming to sell 48,000 units of Sail sedan in India during 2013. The news was revealed by P Balendram, VP, GM India, at a recent conference in Kochi, reports PTI. He added that the company had laid out state-wise targets, for Kerala, the monthly sales target for Sail is at 300 units. Speaking about exporting Indian made Sail sedan, he says there is no need for that now, cause the Chinese plant is able to meet that demand as it exports Sail to 16 countries.
Will GM India manage to meet their target of 48,000 units sales of Sail sedan, will only be revealed with time. Offerered in a choice of 7 exterior colors, Sail is priced in the range of INR 4.99 lakhs to INR 6.41 lakhs for petrol variant and INR 6.29 lakhs to INR 7.51 lakhs for the diesel variant.
