Chevrolet TuneIn at 2013 CES

2013 Consumer Electronics Show saw Chevrolet demonstrate its TuneIn facilities and global network of 70,000 stations. This facility is enabled by a smartphone app compatible with MyLink Radio on Chevrolet’s Spark and Sonic cars. This new application offers customers direct access to global and personalized infotainment through car radio.

MyLink is being offered on the 2013 Spark LT, Sonic RS and LTZ models while it will be available on the 2013 Sonic LS and LT and standard on the 2014 Spark EV once it is released into markets in summer of 2013. To access TuneIn through MyLink Radio customers would need to download TuneIn Radio applications which is for free. This needs to be downloaded to a compatible smartphone. The phone will then be connected with MyLink for continuous stream of live local, international and internet radio.

To use it, drivers will have to have TuneIn running on Android or iOS devices connected to the car through Bluetooth or USB cable with an active internet connection. Chevy will also be bringing navigation app, BringGo running on a smartphone with display and controls through the cars touch screen. Chevrolet Spark EV was introduced at the recent Los Angeles Auto Show as a 2014 model and will go on sale later this year.
