In vehicle sales Chinese brands yet ruled supreme accounting for 42.9 of market share. Japanese vehicles owned a market share of 18.7 percent followed by American manufacturers at an 11.1 percent share. Sales for SUVs peaked in the month of March in China with sales figures reaching 176,000 units.
For March three top selling cars were, Buick Excelle (units sold-24,100), Volkswagen Jetta (units sold- 23,100) and Chevrolet Sail (units sold-22,100). The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers is upbeat about the days ahead and expects an 8 to 10% rise in sales by the end of the second quarter.
Top 10 best selling cars in China for March 2012 enjoy a 21.6% market share. They are as follows;
