In the gaming front, with the all-new Corvette Stingray wraps off, Sony Computer Entertainment’s PlayStation3 (PS3) fans and gamers can push the car to limits in the Gran Turismo 5 racing game. About 500,000 have driven the camouflaged Corvette prototype since its introduction in the game in November. Corvette Stingray, the 7th gen sports car game version is high on drive experience thanks to the efforts of Chevrolet and Polyphony Digital Inc., developers of the Gran Turismo franchise.
On 18th January, General Motors Chairman and CEO Dan Akerson’s 1958 Chevrolet Corvette will be sold by the Barrett-Jackson Auction Co. in Scottsdale, Arizona. Proceeds are to benefit Habitat for Humanity Detroit. Last month, Chevrolet donated 2 dozen Express vans to the charity.
Autographix isn’t only about automotive decals, and now brings a new social networking platform for Automobiles, Autobook. To be used on Facebook, vehicle owners can now communicate in the voice of their car or bike. Users can do all they do on Facebook, and can also discuss oil changing preferences. The app allows one to play with their car/bike virtual avatar. Once a car image is uploaded, users can add skins available through Autobook.
The Honda CBX turns 35 this year, and in celebration, fans and riders can opt for the ‘CBX SIX PACK since 1978′ T-shirt. The iconic six-cylinder motorcycle’s spirit will be celebrated in the black tees with white lettering.
