DC Avanti production version showed in a new video
Unveiled as a concept at the hands of Amitabh Bachchan during 2012 Auto Expo, DC Design’s production version of DC Avanti made its debut at 2014 Auto Expo. Recently spotted on the Pune Expressway, DC Avanti is the first fully Indian production supercar slated to go on sale later this year at a price between INR 25-30 lakhs.
Various modifications were noted when comparing concept DC Avanti and production ready version spotted. Modifications were seen in the form of foglights which have now been integrated into headlight clusters while wings have been added to bonnet resulting in improved aerodynamics of the car. Avanti weighs a total of 1580 kgs, has ground clearance of 170mm and rides on 19 inch wheels. Stopping power comes from 330 mm ventilated discs both at the front and rear.
Powering the DC Avanti is a 2.0 liter Ford EcoBoost engine capable of 250 hp power at 5500 rpm and 360 Nm torque at 3500 rpm while being mated to a 6 speed manual transmission. This engine allows the DC Avanti to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6 seconds while top speed is at 250 kmph. Avanti by DC Designs is Euro V compliant but can be upgraded to Euro VI.
DC Design will commence production of the Avanti from their new plant in Gujarat which has an annual capacity of 3500 units.
