Dr. Viktor Klima has been associated with the Volkswagen Group since the year 2000 when he took over as President. Earlier, Klima was closely associated with politics and held several posts first as Board Member for Finance in 1990 and then member of the Austrian Government in 1992 while he was also Chancellor of Austria from 1997 to 2000. He was later appointed as member of the Group Board of Management for the South American region and was also General Representative of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft in 2006.
His successor, Emilio Saenz has also been closely associated with Volkswagen Group ever since 2989 when he joined as assistant to technical management at SEAT. He later held several positions and was head of production at VW Autoeuropa from 2000. He has been appointed CEO and member of the Board of Management at VW Argentina in November 2011 and will now take the place of Dr. Klima as President.
