Ducati reveals plans to enter India officially
Bologna based superbike makers, Ducati Motor Holding has officially declared that they will re-establish their presence in India. The company was among one of the first International superbike brand to enter India’s two wheeler segment in 2008.
This time round, though Precision Motors will continue to provide customer care, Ducati will also be setting up their own distribution networks after which the entire range of Ducati motorcycles will be available at various locations across the country. Despite Ducati’s exit in 2008, Precision Motors continued to import and distribute Ducati motorcycles in India.
The company has noted increased demand for superbikes and is certain of its success in India. Ducati considers India an important market for the company’s future and will be establishing itself with premium products and services, besides a much larger network so as to cater to increased demands.
Ducati has been recognized as the Italian leader of state of the art technology and unique motorcycle designs. The company produces a variety of superbikes ranging from Monster, Motard, Hyper Sport, Daivel and Panigale range.
Outlining how growing consumer and commercial expectations had driven this decision, Cristiano Silei, Vice President Sales and Marketing of Ducati, said: “We consider India an extremely important part of Ducati’s future global strategy and will strengthen our presence in the market with premium services and a larger network that will be in line with our global standards. Our entry into the Indian market is therefore a first step in this direction.”
