Eicher Trucks and Buses registered rise in domestic sales during January 2012. Eicher domestic sales increased by 6% as they sold 3,551 units last month. Overall sales during the month of Jan 2012 stood at 3,708 units, 5% higher than what was experienced by the company in January 2011.
VE Commercial Vehicles is a joint venture between Eicher Motors and Volvo Group. VE recorded increased sales for January 2012 as growth in the heavy duty truck segment was compensated by a drop in light truck sales. While domestic sales increased by 6% the company's exports suffered a slight setback, as exports dipped by 6% to just 157 units.
Eicher announced that their heavy duty truck sales increased by 10% to 579 units in January 2012 as compared to sales in January 2011. Bus sales stood at 365 in January 2012, as compared to only 200 sold during January 2011. This increase in sales has resulted in the company shares closing up 1.8% on the National Stock Exchange.
