Special F1 driver helmets as 2013 GP season draws to a close
Sebastian Vettel at the weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2013 will be seen sporting a brand new helmet designed by 21 year old Jake Vite Prejop. This design was selected from a total of 1500 entries received in a helmet design competition which was offered by Infiniti.
As per the competition, fans were invited to design a helmet that the 2013 World Champion would wear and the prize winning entry showed a combination of colors of Infiniti red Bull Racing along with the German flag while it also portrayed elements of speed and the heat of the race track in its design.
Jake is an automobile aficionado and his family is in the automobile business. He was elated at his design being specifically selected by the world champion.
While Vettel will be sporting this particular helmet, Jake and a guest were flown to Abu Dhabi by Infiniti. They spent the weekend at Paddock Club and had an exclusive tour of the garage of Infiniti Red Bull Racing while the icing on the cake was that the duo met Sebastian Vettel, the four time World Champion in person.
The weekend also saw Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes AMG Petronas wear a golden helmet design for the Abu Dhabi GP. The weekend prior to that at the Indian GP, Fernando Alonso wore a record crash helmet for Alonso. The design saw the number 1571, total points the Spanish driver has won in his career. The words ‘F1 points World Record’ was printed too. Thank you to his fans were written in English, French and Italian on the white helmet.
