Faurecia inaugurates Emissions Control Technologies plant in India

Faurecia is the world leader in emission control technologies which are used in a number of Toyota vehicles manufacturer in India. To help cater to needs of their clients, the company had inaugurated a new facility in Bidadi region near Bangalore. Though the plant went into regular operation from September 2012 it was inaugurated in December 2012.

Components and solutions manufactured by Faurecia are used in Toyota vehicles like Etios, Innova, Liva, Corolla and Fortuner. Hot and cold ends for exhaust components are manufactured at this plant and used in assembly of about 1,100 vehicles each day. Situated at a distance of only 5km from the Toyota Kirloskar Motors assembly facility will help Faurecia improve delivery rate and cut down on transportation costs. Reduced distance also means that Faurecia will be able to provide components for over 3,00,000 vehicles per annum in a significantly fast response time period.

Apart from Toyota, this plant also provides emission control technologies ranging from manifolds to mufflers as per requirements of Fiat, GM, Ford, Cummins and Hyundai. Faurecia headquarters are in Pune and they operate 2 R&D centers here. One in Pune for Interior, Seating & Exterior, and the other in Bangalore concentrated on Emissions Control Technologies. Faurecia has 9 production facilities that cater to Indian auto hubs in Pune, Manesar Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore and employ a staff of 1,600
