Ferrari adds Apple CarPlay to FF supercar
Ferrari has displayed a new Apple infotainment system called CarPlay on its FF super car which was currently on display at the Geneva Motor Show 2014. This is the first car in the world to see the introduction of CarPlay and hence drew much attention of visitors to the show.
CarPlay from Cupertino company and caused much excitement among viewers who included motoring experts and also those from the technology and communications sectors who found the new infotainment system novel and thrilling. The company had on hand technical experts not only from Ferrari but also from Apple to demonstrate CarPlay and its functions and the ways and means by which it integrates with the car’s existing system.
CarPlay permits Ferrari users to integrate their iPhones with their cars allowing them to not only make calls but even use Maps, listen to music and access messages either through voice commands or via a central touchscreen display. iPhone users always wish for content at their fingertips minus the distractions and this is exactly what CarPlay caters to offering them access to phone, messages, navigation and even access to music streaming service Spotify besides online radio services such as Beats Radio and iHeartRadio along with Apple’s popular digital assistant Siri.
While already seen on board Ferrari FF, this new Apple CarPlay is soon to be adopted by other car makers in the future.
