China has emerged as a major market for luxury cars and is the second largest market for Ferrari. Sales during the current year have reach over 700 units and the company is present in the country though its 25 dealer networks.
A new version of Ferrari 458 Italia, a limited edition for the Chinese market, was launched earlier this year as a mark of celebration of completion of 20 years in the country. The Ferrari sportscar was taken on a parade from the company showroom to Haixinsha stadium while celebrations continued marked with the illumination of Canton Towers.
Attended by a host of spectators, 500 lucky participants were also able to take part in the special celebrations held in honor of the company’s 20 years in China. This 458 Italia is produced as a limited edition series specially for Chinese markets. It is marked with Chinese elements and finished with special Rosso Marco Polo.
“It has been a marvellous day of celebrations,” commented Luca di Montezemolo,“with many enthusiasts, a lot of young people and the city full of Ferrari flags. This has been the best demonstration yet of what the Prancing Horse represents in China – not just from a commercial point of view, but above all else for the Chinese people’s passion for Ferrari.”
