A distant dream has now become a reality with the Rubens Barrichello driven Ferrari Formula 1 race car from 2001 now being put up for sale with an asking price of $3,400,000 (approximately Rs 21 crores without taxes, duties).
Rubens Barrichello’s 2001 F1 car, which DuPont claims has done a total of 870 miles on track, is designed by Rory Byrne exclusively for the Formula World Championships and is Ferrari’s 47th car. It is a two door roadster sitting on a wheelbase measuring 3010mm, sports a black interior color scheme. It receives a 3.0 liter V10 engine mated to a 7 speed semi automatic sequential transmission offering peak output of 832 PS. This particular car which is on sale, managed to finish on podium for 10 times of the 17 races in 2001.
Besides this exclusive Rubens Barrichello model, DuPont has 8 other Ferrari F1 cars on sale. These include a 2010 Ferrari F10 driven by Fernando Alonso and a 2007 F2007 which has seen 5 wins when driven by Kimi Raikkonen. No details of pricing of these models have been revealed.
