The all new Ferrari F70 images which have recently hit the web give us a sneak peek of what is to come into markets by end 2012. Ferrari F70 is slated to have a hybrid power train with a 6.5L V12 petrol engine and two electric motors with double clutch transmission.

Two electric motors are expected to work as a generation for capturing kinetic energy and transmitting it to the lithium ion battery pack at the rear of the vehicle while the second electric motor will have the function to charge auxiliary systems. Lastly, on top of its transmission is a hybrid power unit, which features two inverters and a smart cooling system.

Ferrari F70 will have output of 920 HP and will be able to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.5 seconds.  Overall weight will stand at 1000 kgs or less. The model is designed at the Ferrari studio in Maranello. F70 is just a code name of this new Ferrari sportscar whose official name will be revealed closer to launch date.

Ferrari F70 is based on the results of the test being performed on Ferrari FXX and research under Millechili Project at the Millechili Lab in University of Modena. Millechili Lab was created by the engineering department of University of Modena in collaboration with supercar maker, Ferrari, in order to design and build a lightweight chassis for supercars.
