One may be heir apparent of the rich and famous but that does not permit you to get away from long hands of the law. This is just what happened to Vorajuth Yoovidhaya, 27 year old grandson of co-creator of Red Bull – Chaleo Yoovidhaya and son of Red Bull Executive, Chalerm Yoovidhya. Yorayuth was accused of running down 47 year old policeman in his brand new Ferrari FF.

The youngster not only knocked the cop off his feet but also dragged him down the road for a few meters before the officer succumbed due to severe injuries caused to his neck and broken bones. Since the crime involved a well known personality, a low ranking police personnel tried to cover up the crime, protect the high flying culprit and instead booked an innocent man for the crime.

However, Bangkok Police Chief – Comronwit Toopgranjank came to know of the scheme and has since released the innocent man besides transferring the erring officer to another post. Yoovidhaya is now behind bars, charged with causing death by rash and negligent driving and above all charged of escaping from the scene of a crime. He faces up to ten years in jail.
