Ferrari J50 limited edition makes global debut in Japan

Limited to just 10 examples, all exclusive for the Japanese market, Ferrari J50 Limited Edition is based on the 488 Spider. This exclusive model is created by Ferrari’s Special Projects Department and designed by the company’s Maranello team and marks the 50th anniversary of Ferrari in Japan to which it owes the ‘J’ designation.

Ferrari J50 Limited Edition will be built to suit customer’s demands. It gets front radiators which have been closer positioned while a lower windscreen header is also evident to cater to the vehicles aerodynamic demands.

Speaking about its design, Ferrari says, “marks a return to the targa body style evocative of several well-loved Ferrari road cars of the 1970s and 1980s.” Bonnet is lowered while two carbon fiber air channels are evident along with raised front wheel arches, prominent lower spoiler and full width mesh grille. Four tail lamps at the rear, rear diffuser and forged 20” alloy wheels are also seen on this limited edition.

Interiors receive sports seats with an Alcantara central segment while buyers will be able to opt for color preferences where upholstery is concerned.

Engine specifications on the Ferrari J50 will be the same as that seen on the 488 Spider to include a 3.9 liter V8 engine offering an added 20 PS power to go upto peak power of 690 hp. This engine on the 488 Spider is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in under 3 seconds while top speed stands at 325 kmph. Performance figures on the J50 have not been revealed as on date but should be around the same.
