Fiat 500X SUV seven seater image revealed: Debut in 2013

Fiat 500X is ready to enter the mini SUV segment and is guaranteed to offer some stiff competition to both Ford Ecosport and Renault Duster. Similar to Fiat 500 and Fiat 500L, 500X will also be based on the Punto platform while the vehicle will be ready for launch by the end of 2013.

Fiat 500X will be wider than Punto and will be 4.2 meters in length while it will be offered both with petrol and diesel engines. The diesel engine will be a 1.3 liter multijet, while 900cc Multiair and a 1.4 liter turbo will be the petrol variants.

Fiat500X will have a front wheel drive layout while a 4 wheel drive version is also in the offing sometime later. Judging from illustrations it is seen that 500X will have a coupe like roof at the rear which will give it less head room especially for adults. Prices are expected to commence from £14,000 ($21,710). Fiat is contemplating bringing the 500X to India in 2014 where it could be priced in the Rs.10 lakh category.
