Fiat Avventura rear teased: India launch by October 2014
Fiat India unveiled Avventura at 2014 Auto Expo in February. Thereafter, the compact crossover has been spotted testing on multiple occasions in India. Today, at the launch of Punto Evo in Delhi, it was announced Fiat Avventura will be launched here in two months time.
In creating brand and vehicle awareness, Fiat has previewed it’s all new compact crossover online. In doing so, they have already revealed teasers, the latest being its rear, which can seen in the image above.
Fiat Avventura, based on Punto Evo hatchback is the Italian automaker’s compact crossover segment entrant. Once launched, it will take on Toyota Etios Cross and the Volkswagen Cross Polo. Etios Cross has been bringing in decent numbers with 888 units sold in July 2014, while Polo Cross numbers are not known.
Fiat Avventura compact crossover wears projector headlights, and a tail gate mounted spare wheel. Interiors are Punto and Linea inspired with appropriate design changes. The console sees changes, and the car comes in two-tone seat upholstery.
Power comes from Fiat’s existing engine lineup, which points to a 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol engines, and a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel unit (75bhp and 90bhp), mated to a five-speed manual. For Avventura, price range is expected to be in the Rs 5.5-8.5 lakh bracket.
