Fiat India Ranjangaon plant produces 500,000th engine and 250,000th car
Fiat India, the completely owned subsidiary of Fiat Auto Italy, has announced that their plant in Ranjangaon near Pune has reached a production milestone of 250,000 cars and 500,000 engines. Incorporated in 2007 under the Tata Motors – Fiat Auto JV, Ranjangaon plant is spread over 200 acres and employs 2500 people directly.
Fiat India Automobiles Limited – FIAL is the company that owns Ranjangaon facility. FIAL was formed as a result of Tata Motors and Fiat Auto JV. Ranjangaon plant specializes in the arena of world class manufacturing and focuses on to ensure manufacturing of superlative quality of products, i.e. passenger cars and engines. The facility supports both of its partners, FIAT and Tata Motors.
Spokesmen of both partners share that the Ranjangaon facility will continue to produce world class products that demonstrate engineering ingenuity keeping the current market needs in mind. The manufacturing facility has enabled us to leverage synergetic benefits and will further aid us in tapping the potential that the growing Indian market has to offer. The facility will also be utilized for manufacturing of some of the new products that will be launched in future by both the partners.
