Fiat Linea Classic spied prior to launch on 25th Sep
Fiat India is set to launch its new entry level variant of the Linea sedan on September 25, i.e tomorrow. Starting with the low cost variant called Linea Classic, Fiat India says that this will be the first of nine new launches set for the coming three years. The base variant of Linea Classic will be a regular Linea, but with lesser features. Prior to tomorrow’s launch, here are the first spy shots of the car.
Fiat India expects to make major strides into the country after parting ways with Tata Motors. The company has inaugurated 70 new outlets this year and plans refreshed models of Fiat, Jeep and Abarth cars in India over the next three years. They are also going to introduce Fiat Linea facelift later this year. This version is currently under test near their Ranjangaon facility. You can see the spy shots here and here.
Speaking about the low cost Linea Classic spy images (credit to MotorTrend India), one can clearly see where the cost-cutting is done. This version does not feature alloys, and steering mounted controls. Airbags and ABS too seems to be missing. Engine option will continue to be the same 1.3l MultiJet and 1.4l petrol with 5 speed manual gearbox. Price is expected in the range of Rs 6 lakh.
