Avid RushLane reader Tanuj Kotecha snapped a Punto on the loose wearing partial covers. Since photos of fully revealed Punto are spreading wide on online forums, we now know whats behind the masquerade. Punto facelift gets a new exterior colour close to golden hue which even the showroom guys don’t know yet what to call.
Showroom? Yeah, booking for Fiat Punto Evo is opened at advance amount of Rs. 25,000 (refundable). So far 8 Puntos are booked in a dealership in Pune. Production of older Punto was stopped in May, left overs are sold at discount of up to Rs. 50,000 – 35,000 direct cash off and rest via free insurance and such.
Dealer claims that new Punto will feature only full black interiors, which contradicts with what we saw in our earlier test mule photos. Dealer also says new Punto will have same engine options and tune as in current model.
Most important news is that 2014 Punto might hit showrooms this month, probably because Volkswagen Polo facelift is launching on 15th July. Also, we learned that Avventura launch would be pushed past Diwali, to November 2014.
