Guangzhou Auto, China’s sixth largest auto manufacturers have entered into a partnership with Fiat and these two auto majors has set targets of building 140,000 Viaggio sedans per annum.
Viaggio will be offered in a choice of two petrol engines – 1.4 liter T Jet offering 120 hp and 150 hp and choices of a 5 speed manual gearbox or Dual Dry Clutch Transmission. There will be a striking resemblance between Viaggio and 2013 Dodge Dart if you look closely specially at the front and rear ends and interiors.
Launched earlier this year at the Beijing Motor Show, Viaggio is christened as “Fei Xiang”. Production will commence at full pace from July while vehicles will be seen in local markets by September. Viaggio will compete with the likes of Volkswagen Lavida, which is currently doing well in Shanghais markets.
