Formula One World Champion, Sebastian Vettel won his second Indian Grand Prix earlier today, thereby increasing his lead over Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso to 13 points, who finished second today. The third sport on the podium was grabbed by Vettel’s Red Bull team mate, Mark Webber. McLaren’s Hamilton finished fourth while Button and Massa finished fifth and sixth earlier today at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Red Bull continued their impressive run in F1 this season, as their driver, Vettel has managed to win four last races (Singapore, Japan, Korea, and India) and the only man to win five races this season. Vettel is also the only one to win a Formula One Grand Prix in India, and that too twice.

For his German counterpart, and seven time world champion, Michael Schumacher, this was once again a race he would not like to remember, apart from the fact that this was the last time he will be racing in India. Earlier in the race, in the first lap itself, Schumacher lost his rear tyre due to a contact with fellow racer, after which it was always a climb hill for him. He retired at 5 laps to go. For the home team, Force India drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Paul di Resta finished 8th and 12th. HRT driver, and India’s Formula 1 driver, Narain Karthikeyan too had a poor show as he finished last.
