Ford EcoSport at 2012 Sao Paulo Auto Show

Ford, along with a number of Indian brands is promoting its unique line up of vehicles at the Sao Paulo Auto Show. At this event, Ford has put on display its EcoSport model. The EcoSport is an urban SUV model which as been designed for superior handling on the road and not for adventure and rugged terrain. With its powershift 4WD variant, the brand hopes to attract prospective buyers.

This 4WD technology has greatly affected the design of these cars when compared with the top end models and normal variants. The 2.0l 16V flex Duratex engine has been used within these vehicles and it will be soon available in Brazil. The EcoSport will be powered with aspirated and turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. The car will be launched early next year for the Indian market.

Price of the car wasn’t revealed, but the company said that it will be pricing the car at a competitive rate as compared to the Duster. Ford EcoSport will be arriving in India next year. This has been confirmed by none other than Ford India President, Michael Boneham. Once launched, Ford EcoSport will compete with Mahindra Quanto in the sub 4 meter SUV segment.
