Ford EcoSport SUV spyshots have been plenty in India, and recent spottings at a dealership is finally pointing to a launch looming overhead. The Ford EcoSport is going to be offered in both diesel and petrol variants, with a likelihood that the diesel variant is launched later, keeping in mind that the EcoBoost 1 Liter engine is coming to India for the first time. Bookings are being entertained at the Yerwada Talera Ford dealership in Pune.
There is no confirmation regarding launch date but it is not February 2013 for certain. Conversations are pointing to a very late launch in March or a lunch in April after the Indian budget session. There is no confirmation yet regarding petrol and diesel specs or the number of variants to be launched. A Rs 50,000 booking amount will let buyers pick their preference which can be modified later upon availability of all details after the Ford EcoSport. Their is no price confirmation either at the moment. Planet Ford is not accepting Ford Ecosport bookings currently.

Though the interiors are quite small when compared to the Duster they are one of the quietest interiors seen till date. The Ford EcoSport is powered by a 1.0L turbocharged EcoBoost petrol engine that is capable of producing 120PS of power and 170 Nm of torque. Transmission options are a 5 speed manual or a 6- speed PowerShift Automatic. Ford EcoSport is also available with a 1.5L diesel engine option capable of producing 90 bhp of torque and 200 Nm of power, dispersed via a 5 speed manual transmission system.
